Tragedy struck in the Brushy Creek area of Williamson County early Saturday morning when two men were found dead from gunshot wounds, KXAN reports. According to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call was received just before 2 a.m. at a residence on the 8900 block of Brushy Gate Cove, which sits just south of Round Rock city limits.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered two deceased men inside the home. A juvenile suspect, who had barricaded themselves in a bedroom of the house, caused authorities to initiate a SWAT standoff. "The suspect peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody by law enforcement," said the Sheriff's Office in a statement obtained by CBS Austin.
The Sheriff's Office has yet to release the identities of the victims or the juvenile suspect, maintaining privacy due to the suspect's age. Investigators, however, indicated that they believe the incident was 'an isolated incident involving members of the residence,' offering some solace to the community that there was no additional threat to the public.
