
Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Chicago earlier this week. The suspects have been identified as 24-year-old Teryon Pittman and 23-year-old Roberts Cooks Jr., according to a news release by the Chicago Police Department.
Pittman, residing on the 2400 block of N. Lockwood Ave., and Cooks Jr., from the 1400 block of S. Trumbull Ave., were both charged with one felony count each of robbery – armed with a firearm. They were arrested in the early hours of January 27, 2026, following an incident that left a 39-year-old male victim robbed at gunpoint. Having been placed into custody shortly after the crime, both men faced their detention hearing on January 29, 2026.
The alleged robbery took place less than two hours before their arrest in the 5200 block of W. Montana, an area patrolled by the 25th District officers who identified and apprehended Pittman and Cooks Jr. In a statement obtained by the Chicago Police Department, the offenders were said to have "taken personal property at gunpoint" from the victim.
The hearing for both suspects was scheduled to occur at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California. The Chicago Police Department's report provided no additional details at this time, indicating the ongoing nature of the investigation. The announcement emphasized that the two were booked and charged accordingly, entering the criminal justice system on charges that carry significant weight and consequences.
