The incident took place on the 400 block of Superior Avenue, according to a statement to the press. Police and medics were called to the scene near Valley Terrace Apartments around 6 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
An injured 19-year-old man was found at the location, having suffered a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a hospital in Pittsburgh, where, according to WTAE, he is expected to recover. A 16-year-old also sustained a superficial wound after a round struck them, highlighting an evening marred by violence that touched even the young.
While the condition of the older teen was shared, details regarding the younger victim's state or the motive behind the shooting have not been made clear at this time. WPXI reported that officials said a male was taken to the hospital from the scene, but did not provide information on his age.
