Union County, in coordination with the American Red Cross, will close the temporary emergency shelter at Monroe Middle School on Tuesday morning. According to the Union County Government, Shelter Manager Sheila Crunkleton noted that the winter storm caused less disruption than expected, and the community was well-prepared to provide support.
The emergency shelter, which opened on Saturday, housed three residents during the storm. County staff and the American Red Cross are now assisting them, including providing transportation to the Community Shelter of Union County.
