Officer Austin Murphy and his four-legged partner, K9 Ghost, have completed a 12-week training course at the Middletown Division of Police Department's K9 Certification Academy, emerging as a newly minted team ready to take on the streets with a dual mission: general duty patrol and the intricate task of narcotics detection. The rigors of their training ensured that both officer and canine are now fully prepared to serve and protect their community.
The police department's announcement also took a moment to acknowledge the origins of K9 Ghost and his peers, noting that all of the dogs trained in this class were sourced from Vohne-Liche Kennels, a reputable outfit in Indiana known for producing disciplined and exceptional working dogs from the Czech Republic and Holland. The commendation extended further, tipping a hat to the Middletown Police Department K9 training staff, which included Sgt. Jordan, Sgt. Schwarber, Officer Figley, Officer Arent, and Officer Day for their dedication and commendable instruction throughout the demanding program.
