The Pullen Arts Center is offering a variety of upcoming art and craft classes for teens and adults, with options ranging from pottery and printmaking to jewelry and fiber arts.
According to the City of Raleigh's announcement, for ages 12 to 15, the center is offering Teen Pottery – Handbuilding Basics, taught by Sue Chegari. The class covers pinch, slab, and coil techniques and will meet on Sundays starting February 1, with no class on February 15. Registration costs $83 for residents and $98 for non-residents. Another youth class beginning February 18 will focus on creating sculptures inspired by popular video games.
Adults can choose from several classes, including Printmaking – Waterless Lithography, led by Alexandra Zuckerman, which begins February 15 and uses silicone instead of traditional chemicals. Fibers – Reimagining Nature: Soft Sculptures, taught by Patrizia Ferreira, starts January 21 and explores fabric manipulation techniques.
Additional offerings include Jewelry – Casting with Cuttlefish Bone, taught by Hsiang-Ting Yen, and a weekend Copper Containers class with Terry Thompson scheduled for March 7–8.
