Vallejo has witnessed yet another tragic incident on its roads, with a pedestrian losing her life in a multi-vehicle collision last Saturday. According to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Redwood Street at approximately 5:05 AM. Responding officers and emergency personnel found an adult female pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite attempts to save her life, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other individuals were reported to have been injured in the incident and subsequently transported to a local hospital. The VPD Traffic Division's initial findings suggest the crash involved two vehicles and the pedestrian. During their investigation, police noted that one of the drivers involved had managed to quickly leave the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived. As efforts to understand the full context of the crash unfold, the police have made it clear that the investigation is both active and ongoing.
The identity of the deceased has been kept under wraps, pending notification of her next of kin, a process managed by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office. This latest fatality brings the total number of traffic-related deaths in Vallejo to two for the year 2026, marking a somber start to the new year.
Authorities are reaching out to the public to come forward with any information that might aid the investigation. Officer Nicholas Petrie of the VPD Traffic Division has been designated as the point of contact and can be reached at (707) 648-4329 or through his email, [email protected].
