The Vallejo Police Department's Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Team has reportedly dismantled a persistent retail theft operation that has plagued local stores, according to a social media post from the department. Over a two-week period in November 2025, two suspects were linked to a series of thefts that netted over $5,000 in stolen goods from a store on the 1100 block of Admiral Callaghan Lane. Collaborating with the store's loss prevention team and using security footage, the POP Team managed to detain one suspect, an Antioch resident and convicted felon, on November 28, 2025, who was then arrested on multiple felony theft charges, along with an outstanding warrant for larceny.
The second suspect, involved in similar thefts in January, was recognized by employees at a store in the 100 block of Plaza Drive while slipping away with over $700 in unpaid merchandise, prompting another round of retail theft reports. As a heist echoed in the vicinity of another department store, officers swiftly homed in and detained the female on the very same block of Admiral Callaghan Lane. Further investigation at the scene led to the recovery of stolen jackets, high-end fragrances, and other items from the suspect's vehicle, resulting in the arrest of both individuals, who were then booked into the Solano County Jail on multiple charges related to theft and conspiracy.
Through meticulous follow-ups and strengthened alliances with local retailers, the Vallejo PD's POP Team has demonstrated effectiveness in curbing repeat offenses by monitoring emerging crime patterns rather than focusing on isolated incidents.
