A 43-year-old Wauchula woman, Marie Ibarra, was arrested yesterday, by the Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) following allegations of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. The PCSO affirms that the arrest was precipitated by the discovery of several videos on a teen's phone by his mother, which depicts Ibarra engaging in sexual acts with her 16-year-old son.
In an unsettling turn of events, the investigation into the alleged abuse began last December when the victim's mother came across explicit material on her son's phone. According to a statement from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the incriminating videos clearly show Ibarra performing oral sex on the teen in what has been identified as the minor's bedroom. The earliest video dated back to December 4, 2025, marking a prolonged period of alleged sexual involvement.
The teen confirmed his involvement with Ibarra, disclosing to detectives that their encounters escalated beyond the recorded incidents to include sexual intercourse. Confronted by authorities, Ibarra acknowledged the gravity of their questions but refrained from divulging details or admitting to the sexual misconduct.
Grady Judd, the Polk County Sheriff, expressed outrage over the revelations, criticizing the breach of trust intrinsic in the situation. "This is a complete betrayal of trust. This woman was a family acquaintance who chose to exploit a child she knew. She knew better, and she did it anyway. Now she’s going to face the consequences," Judd said in a news release. Ibarra has been charged with unlawful sexual activity with minors and is currently held at the Polk County Jail awaiting due legal process.
