Waukesha’s election season is underway. District 13 voters will hold their Spring Primary on February 17, while the rest of the city will vote in the Spring Election on April 7, according to the city’s official website.
The city has taken steps to make voting accessible to all residents. Absentee voting is available at various Waukesha care facilities, ensuring that those who cannot visit the polls in person can still cast their ballots. These measures are especially important for supporting participation among marginalized voters.
In-person absentee voting at City Hall runs from February 3 through February 13. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on most days, extending to 5:00 p.m. on the final day, February 13. Early voting allows residents to avoid long lines or scheduling conflicts on election day.
After the primary, the Spring Election will be held on April 7. Key dates later in the year include the Partisan Primary on August 11 and the General Election on November 3. These dates were confirmed by the city to keep residents informed.
Absentee ballots must be requested annually through MyVote.wi.gov. Completed ballots can be returned to the City Hall Clerk’s Office, placed in the secure drop box outside City Hall, mailed back, or submitted at polling locations on election day.
