The White Settlement Police Department has shuffled the local Special Olympics event schedule, sliding the Polar Plunge to synchronize with the Law Enforcement Torch Run on March 27. In a post on the department's social media, they shared the details of the change-up: participants ready to take the frigid dive will now do so after the symbolic Torch Run wraps up.
"As anticipated, the Special Olympics POLAR PLUNGE that was going to take place this coming Saturday will be re-scheduled to occur after the Law Enforcement Torch Run that was previously scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026," the White Settlement Police Department announced. The change, as expected, meshes into a day packed with effort and enthusiasm to support the Special Olympics - a hallmark movement championing inclusivity and athleticism among individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Torch Run kicks off bright and early at 9 a.m. on that Friday, with the Polar Plunge slated directly after. This rescheduling might be a minor inconvenience for those itching to jump into cold waters for charity, but the police department assures that all prior registrations and donations are automatically transferred to the new date. That means eager plungers don't have to worry about redoing any paperwork; they can simply focus on the (chilly) task at hand.
