The Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest following an armed robbery in Northeast D.C. earlier this month. A 15-year-old juvenile male was taken into custody and is facing charges, the department revealed.
According to the report on the MPD's website, last Friday, around 5:00 p.m., two suspects confronted someone in the 1100 block of Montello Avenue, Northeast. It was then that one individual pulled out a gun and proceeded to forcibly demand money and other valuables from the victim. After complying, the victim watched as the suspects ran away from the crime scene.
The arrest came nearly three weeks after the incident, on January 30, executed under a DC Superior Court custody order. The adolescent, a resident of the Northeast, DC area, has been charged with Armed Robbery (Gun) according to the MPD announcement.
The investigation has yet to concluded, and authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the robbery to step forward. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for details that could help to securely convict those responsible for the offense. They advise that anyone with information about the incident should wisely choose not to intervene directly but instead contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
