In a recent nod to Georgia's rich past and present, Acworth's City Council has officially recognized the Peach State's 293rd birthday. During the council meeting last Thursday, an annual proclamation was presented by Alderman North, marking February 12 as Georgia Day.
As reported by the City of Acworth, the proclamation encourages local residents to come together in a shared celebration and appreciation of the state's bountiful natural landscapes, its cultural depth, and the historical tales etched into its being.
Georgia Day is a time to reflect on the shared history of past and present residents. In Acworth, the Liberty Hill Chapter DAR received a proclamation to honor the land that has shaped countless dreams and lives.
