Authorities in Warrensville Heights have withdrawn an Amber Alert previously set in motion for a 1-month-old baby girl after she was reportedly taken from the city. The alert, which was disseminated with urgency earlier in the week, came to a close following the child's safe return to her father late Monday night.
The initial report came from Cleveland19 News, stating the baby had been taken by her mother, 35-year-old Jamerica Mitchell. Mitchell, described as standing five feet two inches tall and weighing 125 pounds, with black hair, was last seen driving a Silver SUV. However, no further information about the child or the suspect was released at the time.
Further developments provided by WKYC disclosed that the baby was safely returned to her father around 11:45 p.m., which was approximately five hours after she was reported missing. The report revealed that the kidnapping occurred at a Northfield Road apartment complex. Meanwhile, the police had not confirmed whether charges would be brought against Mitchell in relation to the abduction.
