The Metropolitan Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a 2024 shooting in Southwest. On November 28, 2024, at about 8:50 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, members of the Capital Area Regional Task Force arrested 33-year-old Dennis Wilkins of Southwest, D.C., on a DC Superior Court warrant. Wilkins has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
