One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a Friday evening shooting in southwest Charlotte, according to emergency officials. MEDIC crews responded to the scene, treated the victim and took them to a hospital with what were described as serious wounds, while officers stayed behind to lock down the area and start piecing together what happened.
As reported by WCNC, the call came in along Baltimore Avenue on the evening of Feb. 13, 2026. MEDIC confirmed one person was seriously injured, and police had not released any suspect information at the time of that report.
Baltimore Avenue Has Been A Flashpoint Before
Friday’s violence is not the first time Baltimore Avenue has drawn police lights and crime tape. In 2022, a shooting along that same stretch left a 14-year-old dead and a 13-year-old injured, according to WBTV. The following year, an assault reported near Baltimore Avenue later turned fatal, per WCCB.
Police Ask For Witness Help
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told WCNC that detectives are actively investigating the case. Officers are asking anyone who saw the incident, heard anything unusual or has video from the area to contact investigators and share whatever they have to help move the probe forward.
