Residents of Port Charlotte and visitors alike have cause for celebration, as Bayshore Live Oak Park, located on Bayshore Road, has just announced the opening of new amenities following a recent phase of shoreline renourishment. According to an official release from Charlotte County, the park's additions include expanded greenspace, fresh walking paths, and enhanced view parking – all of which are now open to the public.
Not only has the park's greenscape been improved, but nature enthusiasts can look forward to the new natural canoe/kayak launch area designed for a more immersive experience in the local aquatic ecosystem. While park-goers can enjoy these new features, they can also expect continued improvements as certain areas, and amenities will remain off-limits until the completion of permanent repairs.
Further inquiries about the park’s status, or specific questions about the remaining closed areas can be directed to Lonne Moore, a county official, who has been placed in charge of communications regarding the park's ongoing developments. Moore can be reached at 941-613-3237 or by email at [email protected], for residents seeking the most current information.
