Two people, a man and a woman, were found shot to death inside a downtown Houston apartment Thursday night after a neighbor reported seeing blood coming from the unit, according to Houston police.
Officers were called to the building when a neighbor spotted what appeared to be a pool of blood seeping from a nearby apartment. Inside, investigators found a woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound, then discovered a man elsewhere in the unit with what appeared to be gunshot injuries, Click2Houston reported. A gun was recovered at the scene, and officers were not actively searching for any suspects at the time the outlet’s story was published.

The discovery lands in the middle of a broader downturn in homicides across Houston last year. The city recorded roughly a 17% drop in homicide investigations between 2024 and 2025, the Houston Chronicle reported.
