In the early hours of February 3, a tragic scene unfolded on a Bensalem roadway, resulting in one person's death and leaving others critically injured. According to a post made by the Bensalem Police Department on social media, the accident involved a Chevrolet Sonic, which met with a fiery end after a high-speed crash occurred at Street Road near the Interstate 95 interchange.
The deceased has been identified as Timur Khabelov, a 44-year-old Brooklyn, New York resident. Caught up in the blaze, ejected from his vehicle, he was declared dead at the scene before dawn could break. Transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, two passengers from the Chevrolet, Farruh Homidov and Askar Narziev, are reportedly in critical condition, struggling amidst machines and white walls for life. The drivers of the other vehicles, a Dodge Journey and a Honda Accord, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by the Bensalem Police.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still underway, and while the breath of life has long since left the scene, the specter of drugs or alcohol hangs over the wreckage. Pending autopsy and toxicology results, questions linger over what might have facilitated this tragic sequence of events. "The involvement of drugs or alcohol has not been ruled out," said the authorities, as stated by the Bensalem Police.
