A 73-year-old Brooklyn man who was found unconscious after a late-November assault has died from his injuries, and what started as an assault case is now officially a homicide investigation. The attack was reported just after noon on Nov. 24 in front of 5818 Avenue T in the city's 63rd Precinct. The victim, since identified by authorities as Anthony Finale, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and never recovered.

According to FOX 5 NY, police responded around 12:16 p.m. on Nov. 24 after a 911 call and found Finale unconscious and unresponsive with head trauma. EMS transported him to One Brooklyn Health, Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was treated in critical condition. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later ruled his death a homicide, according to the report.

Police arrested 31-year-old Marvin Bonilla on Dec. 1, 2025, and charged him with two counts of assault, officials told FOX 5 NY. Authorities have not announced whether additional charges will be filed following the medical examiner's homicide ruling, and the investigation remains active.
