Cleveland Browns safety Ronnie Hickman was reportedly assaulted today in the lobby of a Lower East Side hotel and was treated at Bellevue Hospital. The 24-year-old was listed in stable condition and is believed to have been released later in the day. The NYPD has launched an investigation and is asking for any witnesses to come forward.
What Happened
Law-enforcement sources told The New York Post that Hickman was approached by four people shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the lobby of the SIXTY LES hotel on Allen Street. A dispute broke out, turned physical, and the group allegedly took off before officers arrived. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition, and that police had not announced any arrests as of Monday afternoon. Detectives are also looking into whether the attackers knew he plays for the Browns.
Hickman's Background
Hickman, a New Jersey native who played his college ball at Ohio State, signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in 2023. After a breakout 2025 campaign, when he logged more than 100 tackles and recorded multiple interceptions, he heads into the offseason as a restricted free agent, as per CBS Sports.
Where It Happened
SIXTY LES is a boutique hotel in Manhattan's Lower East Side, with venue listings putting the address at 190 Allen Street. Police are asking anyone with information about the assault to contact investigators, according to The New York Post.
