
A trip to a Williamsbridge bodega ended in violence Saturday when, according to police, a 69-year-old woman was struck in the head with a cane inside a White Plains Road shop and sent to the hospital with a forehead wound. The attack has left nearby residents and store owners rattled while investigators hunt for the suspect.
What Police Say
According to News 12 The Bronx, investigators say the woman was approached and hit with a cane inside the bodega on Saturday. She suffered a wound to her forehead and was hospitalized for treatment, the outlet reports.
Police told the station the woman is not a store employee and urged anyone who saw what happened, or who recognizes the assailant, to contact authorities.
