Charlotte residents won't need to alter their trash routine for Presidents’ Day. The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services announced that garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky item collection will proceed without disruption on Monday. In a notice on the city's official website, service schedules were confirmed to remain unchanged, urging folks to have their carts curbside by 6 a.m. on their designated pickup day.
The city said the holiday will not affect municipal services, and collections will run as normal. It is a green recycling week. Residents can confirm their pickup day using the My Charlotte Lookup tool, which provides address-based reminders and recycling week schedules.
There's more than just the usual pickup at play too. Charlotteans can get ahead of future schedule changes or interruptions with text alerts from Solid Waste Services. These alerts will notify residents about collection updates, guides on recycling and waste prep, and even quick surveys or other essential city service info. To sign up, text the day of service to 73224, such as "Thursday" or, for Spanish speakers, "Jueves." The system stands ready to keep all participants in the loop on pressing waste management updates.
Residents can find the full 2026 holiday collection schedule and any program updates on the city’s Solid Waste Services webpages.
