As spring teases its arrival with milder breezes and an orchestra of birdsong, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has signaled it's time to think ahead to the summer. They've taken to social media to announce their slate of summer camps, promising an array of activities for the city's youth. According to the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, their recent Facebook post, these camps are poised to offer children the chance to "explore their creativity, build their strength and endurance, go on adventures, try new things and make new friends."
The department has laid out a schedule for interested parents and guardians. Registration for Outdoor Recreation Camps begins on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 12 p.m. for Columbus residents and at 7 p.m. for the general public. Community Center and Specialty Camps, along with Therapeutic Recreation Camps, will start their registration process on Tuesday, Feb. 24, following the same time slots for residents and non-residents alike. With various types of camps on offer, there promises to be an opportunity that sparks interest, and perhaps ignites a new passion, in every participating child.
Those eager for more details about what each camp entails, and how to secure a spot for their children, are encouraged to visit the department's website. The aforementioned social media post contains a direct link to further information to guide families through the options and the registration process. By offering such a breadth of programs, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department not only aims to fill the summer with lively experiences but also intends to foster environments where friendships can blossom and personal skills can be honed.
