
Concord residents near 190 Brookwood Ave NW experienced tense moments as flames broke out in an outbuilding on the evening of January 4th. The City of Concord NC Fire Department confirmed via social media that Engine Co. 1 arrived on scene at approximately 19:16, finding the outbuilding fully engulfed in flames. The incident was promptly escalated to a working fire status.
The response to the blaze was swift and robust, with multiple units including Engine Co. 1, 2, 3, 7; Rescue Co. 3; Truck Co. 1; Ladder Co. 7; and Battalion Chief 1 & 3 being dispatched, the teamwork displayed by the responding firefighters managed to contain the fire with minimal damage to the adjacent home, despite the challenges posed by a fully involved structure fire. Officials have not yet released the cause of the fire which is currently under investigation by the Concord Fire Marshals Office.
No casualties were reported as a result of the incident, and it appears the swift action taken by the first responders aided greatly in preventing the fire's spread and ensuring the safety of nearby residents.
