Police say a 60-year-old Upton man is facing a long list of charges after a confrontation near downtown Milford that allegedly involved gun threats, racial slurs and, later, full-on public nudity inside the police station. Authorities identified the suspect as Dominick Cristino and say the trouble started Monday when he allegedly waved what looked like a pistol at two people in a vehicle and told them he would "leave them bleeding."
What police say
According to the Milford Police Department, officers were called shortly before 11 a.m. for a reported disturbance near 270 Main Street. A caller told dispatchers a man had brandished what "looked to be a pistol." Police say Cristino then walked up to two occupants of a white Dodge Ram, told them to "go back to Brazil" and threatened to shoot them.
Officers say Cristino refused to follow commands during the on-scene investigation. He was arrested and taken to the police station, where the department says he remained disruptive while being processed.
Charges and booking
As reported by Patch, Cristino faces several charges, including civil rights violation, assault with a dangerous weapon, threat to commit a crime, disorderly conduct, open and gross lewdness, disturbing the peace and indecent exposure.
Patch reports that while being searched at the station, Cristino pulled away from officers, stripped and exposed his genitalia and buttocks to both officers and booking-area cameras. Police also allege he tried to flood the cell floors and interfere with monitoring cameras while in custody.
Legal notes and next steps
The Milford Police Department's release notes that "All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" and lists [email protected] as a contact for questions about the case.
According to the department, Cristino was released on bail, and the case is scheduled to move forward in Milford District Court. Specific court dates and additional filings were not immediately available.
