
Local firefighters were called into action after a house caught fire in Cornelius yesterday evening. According to a social media post by Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue, the blaze was reported around 17:00 off of Island Forest Drive, where units from Cornelius, Huntersville, and the Town of Davidson Fire Departments responded to the scene.
The collaborative effort from the three departments was critical in tackling the fire, though it was contained before it could spread further. The occupant of the home sustained smoke inhalation and was assessed on-site by the Mecklenburg EMS Agency - Medic.
