The collision happened in the 2000 block of SW College Road near the Target shopping area, and emergency crews pronounced the rider dead at the scene. Officers shut down the roadway while investigators documented the crash, then later reopened the lanes once the scene was cleared.
According to ClickOrlando, Ocala police confirmed the fatality but did not immediately release the bicyclist's name or say whether anyone had been detained. The outlet reported that traffic along that stretch of SW College Road was temporarily halted so investigators could work the scene before normal flow resumed.
As reported by WCJB, officers said the crash occurred near the 2000 block of Southwest College Road by the Target, and both eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked during the response.
