A wildfire near Hilltop Horizons Place in the Dade City area burned about 50 acres before being contained. According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, crews worked alongside the Florida Forest Service at the Withlacoochee Forestry Center, and the Forest Service will continue monitoring the area.
Pasco County has also issued an emergency burn ban, prohibiting outdoor burning countywide due to dry conditions. Officials urged residents to follow the ban to help prevent new fires.
