
The quiet on Bridges Street was shattered just after midnight yesterday when Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 120 block, where they found 48-year-old Michael Ellegde suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 19-year-old, identified by police as Isaac Amaya, was arrested a short time later and now faces a murder charge.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were called out at approximately 12:00 a.m. A preliminary investigation determined that Ellegde had been shot by the suspect. The department identified the arrested suspect as 19-year-old Isaac Amaya, who was taken to Dallas County Jail and charged with murder. “Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective A. Investigation and charges
Dallas police say the case is being worked as an active homicide investigation under case number 024748-2026, per the Dallas Police Department. So far, the department has not released any information about a possible motive or the events leading up to the shooting.
