
Gunfire near the NYCHA Marlboro Houses in Gravesend left a 38-year-old man grazed in the face just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, and police say they are now looking for three people who took off in multiple cars. EMS brought the victim to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he is expected to recover. According to police, the suspected shooters sped off in at least two vehicles, including a gold GMC and a Nissan Rogue.

Officers canvassed the area and are asking nearby residents and businesses to share any surveillance footage or tips, according to News 12 New York. Detectives described the suspects as two men and a woman who left the scene in at least two vehicles and say they are still piecing together the chain of events that led to the shooting.
The Marlboro Houses and the block
The Marlboro Houses is a New York City Housing Authority complex at 2292 West 8th St. in Gravesend, according to amNY. The development has been the scene of other shootings in recent years, as reported by the Brooklyn Eagle, and neighbors say recurring violence in and around the area remains a concern.

No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains active, according to News 12 New York. Detectives say they are reviewing available video and witness statements as they track down leads.
