Streets surrounding the United States Institute of Peace will be closed to parking and traffic tomorrow due to a scheduled event. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes to avoid congestion. According to an advisory posted by the Metropolitan Police Department, you're going to see 'Emergency No Parking' signs on 23rd Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue, NW. These restrictions kick in from the wee hours of 12:01 a.m. and aren't going anywhere until 1:00 p.m., so look for your parking fix elsewhere.
Traffic will be rerouted tomorrow as street closures take effect from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Commuters who normally travel along 23rd Street from E Street to Lincoln Memorial Circle, NW, or use the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge in either direction should seek alternative routes. Additionally, Constitution Avenue from Henry Bacon Drive to 23rd Street, NW will be closed.
Drivers approaching via the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge will be redirected to the E Street Expressway or Independence Avenue through the Potomac River Freeway. Commuters should allow extra travel time tomorrow morning due to these detours.
