
A 45-year-old man was shot and killed Monday morning in an unincorporated section of Capitol Heights, according to police. Officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were called to the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Monday. The victim was identified as 45-year-old David Downs of Capitol Heights. The department listed the investigation as case number 26-0009288 and said detectives from its Homicide Unit are handling the probe.
Detectives "are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect or suspects," the Prince George's County Police Department said.
