According to KEYE, the Austin Police Department confirmed the homicide near the 900 block of East Braker Lane and reported that no further information was available at the time of publication. Reporter Will LeHardy described the situation as a developing investigation.
What police are asking
As outlined by the Austin Police Department, anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit tip line at 512-974-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip to Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477. APD regularly asks residents and nearby businesses to share any photos or video that might help move cases forward and notes that rewards may be available for tips that lead to arrests.
Detectives typically coordinate with crime-scene specialists and the Travis County Medical Examiner while they process homicide scenes, a methodical and often lengthy procedure that can keep an area blocked off for hours.
Braker Lane's recent violence
The East Braker corridor has seen more than its share of flashing lights and crime tape in recent years. Local reporting has tracked multiple shootings and violent incidents along the stretch, including a July 2025 drive-by that left one person dead and another injured.
