An argument on Detroit's west side turned violent yesterday when a woman was shot and a man police say knew her was taken into custody.
The shooting happened around 5:36 p.m. in the 17500 block of Gradville Avenue. The woman was privately taken to a Metro Detroit hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to ClickOnDetroit. Police said the suspect was arrested, but his name and any potential charges had not been released at the time of the report.
Police Ask Witnesses To Come Forward
Detroit police are urging anyone who saw the shooting or has information about what led up to it to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip. The City of Detroit's Rewards TV page notes that tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or via DetroitRewards.TV, and that rewards may be offered for tips that move a case forward, according to the City of Detroit.
Investigation Ongoing
Detroit police had not released further details about the arrest as the investigation continued, ClickOnDetroit reported. Authorities say the probe remains active as investigators gather information and interview potential witnesses.
