Crash Raises Familiar Warnings About Roadway Safety
Collisions involving law enforcement vehicles remain a regional headache. In a March 2025 crash on I-84, a driver hit a deputy’s marked SUV during a traffic stop, damaging the cruiser but sparing everyone from life-threatening injuries. Portland Police used that incident to urge drivers to move over for stopped emergency vehicles and to highlight the risks tied to impaired or distracted driving; the bureau’s write-up of the I-84 crash underscores just how quickly things can go sideways on the freeway.
