A driver was involved in a road rage incident that resulted in significant damage to a Seminole County business this weekend. The confrontation occurred yesterday afternoon when the driver, reportedly angry at another motorist, exited his vehicle and struck the other's with his hand, according to Casselberry police. After climbing back into his car, the man accelerated too quickly, which caused it to fishtail and crash into the 5 Day Cabinets building, located at 3580 South Highway 17-92, ClickOrlando reported.
The erratic driving sequence began around 2:45 p.m., reported the Casselberry Police Department. The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was cited for reckless driving. Released on a criminal citation so that receiving medical care could commence, his injuries were described as non-life-threatening. After having slammed into the cabinet store's edifice, the building was left with "serious structural damage," fire officials conveyed to ClickOrlando.
Images from the scene showed the vehicle's front end embedded in the glass façade of the business. Officials confirmed that aside from the road rage culprit, there were no other injuries caused by the accident. As a result of the incident, emergency services were deployed, and the driver was transported to a hospital for treatment. WESH has provided coverage on the event, including official statements and visuals.
