
As Durham recovers from recent winter storms, attention turns to the upcoming city budget meetings. City Manager Bo Ferguson thanked city staff and the community for their efforts and resilience during the storms. In an official announcement, Ferguson highlighted the upcoming budget meetings as a key step in shaping the city’s economic priorities. He said the process will focus on aligning available resources with the city’s Strategic Plan to address major community needs and goals.
The Durham City Council will hold a budget retreat on February 13 at the Department of Health & Human Services. The meeting will be streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel. Officials said the session will begin discussions on budget priorities and resource allocation for the upcoming fiscal year.
The public will have the opportunity to provide input during hearings scheduled for March 16 and June 1. Leading up to these dates, City Council will hold work sessions open to the public and streamed live online. City officials encouraged residents to monitor the city’s website for agendas and updates on the budget process.
