The Hillsborough Pet Resource Center is hosting a Valentine’s Day adoption event, “Fur-ever Valentine,” on February 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with waived adoption fees for all dogs and cats. According to Hillsborough County, the event aims to connect potential owners with pets in need of a home.
The shelter, the county’s only open-admissions facility, does not turn away animals based on breed, size, or medical condition. For those unable to attend the event, regular public hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Photos and information on available pets can also be viewed online through the shelter’s kennel feature, allowing potential adopters to browse from home before visiting. Organizers hope the event will help animals find loving, permanent homes while easing shelter capacity.
