Flagler County fire and police departments are preparing to compete in a charity chili cook-off at the Creekside Festival. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, a four-time champion, is encouraging the community to help them win the People’s Choice Award for a fifth consecutive year. According to a social media post from the Sheriff’s Office, the event allows residents and visitors to vote for their favorite chili while supporting a charitable cause.
This year, the cook-off will include a People’s Choice Award decided by public vote, in addition to the Professional Chili Judges Award. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook encouraging support for their chili and inviting the public to vote. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Princess Place Preserve in Palm Coast, and voting is open to all attendees.
In a Facebook post, the competition, known as “Guns and Hoses,” has already begun, with a video posted by the Sheriff’s Office showing the friendly rivalry between departments. The chili cook-off is part of the Creekside Festival and will benefit charity, with proceeds supporting a local cause. The festival also includes a variety of events and entertainment for attendees of all ages.
Those interested in attending and voting in the chili cook-off can find more information on the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
