At Tuesday’s BCC meeting in Clay County, FL, Captain Duane Mallicoat of Fleming Island was recognized for his service to local veterans. Mallicoat retired from the Navy in 2005 after nearly 34 years, rising from an enlisted Sailor to senior aviation maintenance leader, with assignments spanning the Pentagon, NAVAIR, and oversight of Navy and Marine Corps Reserve programs.
At the meeting, Mallicoat led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, reflecting his continued commitment to service, which extends from his Navy career to active community involvement, including leadership in the local Rotary Club.
