Ike’s Cafe and Grill is trading in its pickup-only playbook in Marietta for a full sit-down experience upstairs, turning its Cherokee Street outpost into a neighborhood spot for lingering over breakfast, lunch and dinner. The family-run West African restaurant is building out roughly 3,200 square feet of dining space that will seat about 100 to 120 people and is aiming to open the new dining room this spring, shifting the location from delivery-first operations to a true community hangout.
From ghost kitchen to dining room
In a recent press release, the owners said the upstairs restaurant will feature all-day sit-down service and a lineup of West African staples, permanently transforming the brand’s to-go-focused Marietta kitchen into a full dining room, according to What Now Atlanta. The outlet reports that the new space clocks in at about 3,200 square feet with room for 100 to 120 guests, and it quotes founder Ike Kwarteng as saying the expansion “represents growth for our family and for our community.” The release also notes that a premium African coffee program is slated to roll out across Ike’s locations later in 2026.
Marietta location and on-demand roots
The Marietta shop has been operating as a pickup-focused ghost kitchen at 724 Cherokee St. and appears on delivery platforms, with menu listings and pickup hours available on Uber Eats. The broader brand also lists a Norcross restaurant and other Atlanta-area locations on DoorDash, reflecting a mix of dine-in and delivery operations as it grows. That existing footprint makes the upgraded Marietta dining room a logical next step for a concept already working its way around the region.
Local checks and compliance
Ike’s Marietta kitchen notched a 96 on a recent Marietta restaurant report card, signaling that the operation has been clearing health inspections, according to Marietta.com. The inspection listing shows the Marietta location operating under standard health-department oversight as the team moves ahead with the dining-room buildout.
More growth across Atlanta
The Marietta expansion is not Ike’s only big swing this year. What Now Atlanta previously reported that a larger Edgewood outpost at 487 Edgewood Ave SE has been permitted for roughly 10,767 square feet and may combine two suites with a rooftop element, underscoring the family’s push to plant Ike’s along multiple neighborhood corridors. Together, the Edgewood project and the new Marietta dining room point to a deliberate, block-by-block expansion strategy.
What to expect
Once the Marietta dining room opens, guests can expect signature plates like smoky jollof rice, tender suya and egusi soup alongside peppered meats and plantains, dishes already featured on delivery menus such as Postmates. The owners have said the new space will seat around 100 to 120 diners and operate throughout the day. An exact opening date has not yet been announced, and the team plans to share more details as the buildout moves forward.
