Anne Arundel County police say a Tuesday morning in Glen Burnie turned frightening after a woman reported that a man tried to force her into her parked car near Old Stage Road and Baylor Road. She managed to break free and ran down Old Stage Road while the suspect allegedly chased her, grabbed her phone, then took off on foot. Officers canvassed the neighborhood and, a short distance away, found a man who matched the description and took him into custody.
As reported by Eye On Annapolis, officers responded at about 10:25 a.m. yesterday and detained a 44-year-old Glen Burnie man based on a description from the scene.
Police say detectives are handling the probe
The arrest follows what officials have described as a string of brazen attacks in the area earlier this month. In a Feb. 5 incident in Glen Burnie, detailed in a county press release, officers responded to an attempted sexual assault and, after a quick canvass, located and arrested a suspect. Anne Arundel County Police say detectives are actively working these cases and are urging residents to share any tips.
Neighbors reported heightened concern
Local coverage of the Feb. 5 case captured neighbors telling reporters they felt "terrified" to go outside, a reaction that highlighted growing community anxiety following recent assaults. CBS Baltimore quoted residents and county public information officers who described the earlier incident as especially brazen.
How to report tips
