City Hall hosted a special City Council session last Tuesday focused on financial matters, with Interim Finance Director Marsha Lowry presenting a Financial Accounting 101 overview. The presentation aimed to clarify the City’s financial processes for both Council members and the public. Those unable to attend can access the full presentation online.
Lowry engaged attendees with an interactive review of the City’s Fiscal Year 2026 first-quarter financials. The session covered topics including departmental salaries and overtime, health plan costs, and funding for contractual and professional services. According to the City of Green Cove Springs, council members and the public asked detailed questions about salary levels, overtime use, staffing capacity, and training needs.
The consent agenda was approved unanimously by a 5-0 vote, allowing advanced tickets for the Clay County Fair to go on sale beginning February 17 at City Hall. The motion was introduced by Councilor Kimberly Thomas.
