Police lights flooded the East Side of San Antonio on Saturday night after reports of gunfire near the intersection of Rigsby and Clark avenues. Officers and first responders kept the scene active for hours as they secured the area and searched for any possible victims, as reported by WOAI.
Responders Called To Rigsby And Clark
According to WOAI, first responders were dispatched around 8:15 p.m. to the intersection of Rigsby and Clark Avenue. In a live update, the station described the situation as a developing story and noted that reporters on scene were working to gather more details from police.
Rigsby Corridor Has Seen Multiple Shootings
The stretch of Rigsby has seen its share of recent violence. In recent months it has been the site of several high-profile incidents, including a fatal double shooting outside a sports bar, reported by the San Antonio Express-News, as well as other drive-by and bar shootings covered by KSAT. Authorities have not connected any of those earlier cases to Saturday night’s response, and in the early stages of an investigation police typically canvass nearby streets and review surveillance footage.
How To Help
As of late Saturday night, SAPD had not released specific information about victims, injuries, or possible suspects, according to WOAI’s live report. Anyone who has information or video that could help investigators is urged to contact San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (210-224-7867), submit a tip online, or use the P3 Tips app, per Crime Stoppers of San Antonio.
