Everett police say a quiet Friday evening turned tense around 7:50 p.m. when officers rushed to the area of 66–80 Main Street for reports of shots fired. A short time later, they found a person with a gunshot wound at an address on Park Terrace. The individual told officers they had been out for a walk when they were struck by a round. Emergency medical crews evaluated the injury, and the victim declined additional treatment. Officers searched the neighborhood but did not immediately find a suspect or any shell casings, and the Massachusetts State Police were called in to assist with the investigation.
According to a Facebook post by the Everett Police Department, dispatchers received a call about a person with a gunshot wound on Park Terrace shortly after patrol units responded to the Main Street gunfire report. "We are continuing the investigation and securing video and witness statements from the area," the post reads, adding that EMS provided care while the person declined additional transport. The department said officers carried out an immediate search of the area but had not located a suspect or ballistic evidence at the time of the update, according to the Everett Police Department.
