
Gunfire shut down part of Reisterstown Road in northwest Baltimore last night, turning the 4900 block in the Langston Hughes neighborhood into an active crime scene as cartridge casings littered the roadway. Police quickly cordoned off the area and kept the block sealed for hours while officers, investigators, and a crime-scene technician worked under the lights to document and collect evidence.
According to Fox Baltimore, officers initially responded to calls reporting gunfire and later located additional evidence in the street. Photos from Fox45 showed evidence markers dotting the pavement and officers stretching across the block as the station continued to seek details on any victims or possible suspects.
The Langston Hughes neighborhood sits along Reisterstown Road in northwest Baltimore, a corridor that mixes rowhouses, apartment buildings, and neighborhood businesses, as mapped by the City of Baltimore. The stretch has been the site of multiple shootings in recent years, highlighting longstanding safety concerns along the road, as previously reported by WBALTV.
