
Police are searching for a gunman who robbed a 7‑Eleven in the Fordham section of the Bronx in broad daylight, holding a 27-year-old clerk at gunpoint and fleeing with roughly $1,500 on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The stickup happened just after 2 p.m., when the man walked into the store, demanded cash from the register and then ran off, according to police.
News 12 New York reports the suspect entered the 7‑Eleven at 1845 Webster Ave., pointed a gun at the employee and took off with approximately $1,500. Police told the outlet the victim was 27 years old and that investigators were canvassing the area for leads.
Police Appeal for Tips
Investigators are asking anyone who might have seen something, or who has surveillance video from the area, to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers tip line at 800‑577‑TIPS. Tips can also be submitted online or through the Crime Stoppers mobile app.
The Crime Stoppers program allows people to report information anonymously and may offer rewards for tips that lead to arrests, according to the NYPD.
