A person was shot multiple times near a trailer home in east Harris County on Thursday afternoon and rushed to a hospital, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said the suspected shooter took off before they arrived and was still on the run as investigators worked the scene.
As reported by ABC13, the sheriff's office said the gunfire erupted near the intersection of Barkaloo Road and East Archer Road, and the victim was hit more than once before being taken to a hospital. SkyEye aerial images shared with the outlet showed Barkaloo Road shut down by a line of law-enforcement vehicles while deputies processed the area for evidence.

The intersection sits in the Baytown area of unincorporated east Harris County, a patchwork of trailer-home lots and rural parcels. Online mapping and property listings show Barkaloo Road cutting through Baytown and connecting with E. Cedar Bayou/Lynchburg roads, placing the scene inside the county’s eastern corridor, per MapQuest. That corner of east Harris County has seen multiple shootings in recent weeks, including a deadly incident involving a 17-year-old at an apartment complex last Thursday, Click2Houston reported.

Harris County deputies said no arrests had been made and detectives were still gathering evidence as they searched for the suspect.
