A Saturday night in North Philadelphia turned deadly when a man was shot and killed while sitting in a car, police said. Medics rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:21 p.m. No arrests had been announced as of this morning.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, the gunfire erupted around 7:59 p.m. on the 1500 block of West Boston Street, when another man walked up to a blue car and opened fire, hitting the victim in the head. Police recovered multiple shell casings at the scene, and Inspector D. F. Pace said the shooter fled southbound on West Boston Street and remained at large as investigators canvassed the neighborhood.

Authorities have not released a motive and have not yet publicly identified the victim. Per the Philadelphia Police Department online tip form, anyone with information is urged to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous report online.
